03/27 -2025-SIA Participates in the 8th Korea-China Joint Workshop on Marine RoboticsThe 8th Korea-China Joint Workshop on Marine Robotics was held in Seoul, South Korea, from March 19 to 21, 2025. This event was supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) under their international cooperation program. Over 40 participants attended the workshop.

03/17 -2025-SIA's Stackable Flexible Solar Wings Continueously Contribute to Success of Spacesail Constellation MissionAt 00:38 Beijing Time on March 12, 2025, China successfully launched 18 satellites of the fifth batch for the Spacesail Constellation using a Long March-8 Y6 carrier rocket from Launch Pad 1 at the Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site.The Shenyang Institute of Automation (SIA) ,Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) developed both the deployment mechanisms and sun-tracking drive mechanisms for the stackable flexible solar wings equipped on these 18 satellites.

10/21 -2024-Professor Liu Lianqing won the 2024 Science and Technology Exploration AwardThe 6th annual Science and Technology Exploration Award ceremony was held in Shanghai on October 19, where 49 young scientists were awarded. Liu Lianqing, deputy director of Shenyang Institute of Automation, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (SIACAS), won the Science and Technology Exploration Award in the field of advanced manufacturing and went on stage to receive the award.

06/05 -2024-SIA won the IEEE ICRA 2024 Best Student Paper AwardRecently, a group of employees and graduate students of the Shenyang Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences (SIACAS) attended the 2024 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (IEEE ICRA 2024) in Yokohama, Japan, including LIU Lianqing and ZENG Peng, both Deputy Director of Shenyang Institute of Automation. LIU Lianqing was invited to give a keynote talk. Doctoral student YANG Lianchao's paper won the Best Student Thesis Award. The papers of SIACAS accepted by the conference cover the latest achievements in bio-syncretic robots, surgical robots, rehabilitation robots, industrial automation, and other fields. In his keynote talk, LIU Lianqing introduced the representative progress made by the institute in the perception, driving, and intelligence research of bio-syncretic robots that integrate living systems and electromechanical systems, and also provided a systematic outlook of the research.

03/22 -2024-SIA researchers make new progress on biofabrication and nanomechanical analysisRecently, researchers from Shenyang Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences (SIA, CAS) have constructed a biomimetic peritoneum. The biomimetic model is similar to real peritoneum in internal microstructure, composition, and primary function, and it enables the recurrence of peritoneal metastasis process in vitro.
