11/17 -2015-Axiomatic design method to design a screw drive in-pipe robot passing through varied curved pipesA screw drive in-pipe robot is promising inspection equipment for small pipes. However, most of the existing screw drive in-pipe robots have problems of motion interference and slipping inside curved or irregular pipes. These problems result from the coupled relations among the steering motion, the motion speed and the load ability of the robot. In order to deal with the problems, the axiomatic design (AD) theory is applied to evaluate and analyze the existing designs.

11/17 -2015-Classification of Hemodynamic Responses Associated With Force and Speed Imagery for a Brain-Computer InterfaceFunctional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) is an emerging optical technique, which can assess brain activities associated with tasks. In this study, six participants were asked to perform three imageries of hand clenching associated with force and speed, respectively.

11/17 -2015-Investigation of penetration using atomic force microscope: potential biomarkersThe penetration of cell membrane using atomic force microscope (AFM) is studied. The penetration is monitored by AFM, and the penetration force is measured for three types of cells. The dissipated energy of the cell membrane before and after drug treatment is also calculated and analysed. Experimental results indicate that AFM is an efficient tool for measuring and monitoring the penetration of the cell membrane.

11/17 -2015-NIRS-based classification of clench force and speed motor imagery with the use of empirical mode decomposition for BCINear-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) is a non-invasive optical technique used for brain-computer interface (BCI). This study aims to investigate the brain hemodynamic responses of clench force and speed motor imagery and extract task-relevant features to obtain better classification performance.
