From July 14 to 16, researchers from the Shenyang Institute of Automation (SIA) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences traveled to the Republic of Kazakhstan to participate in a flagship international conference on automotive industrial automation and delivered presentations. They also hosted a technical training and exchange workshop themed Modeling and Operation of Industrial Robots at Turan University,marking the first overseas technical training event organized by SIA.

Associate Researcher CHANG Yong from the Manufacturing Equipment and Intelligent Robotics Department of SIA was invited to give a plenary report titled Practical Solutions and Experience in Implementing Intelligent Robotization in China's Automotive Industry at the conference Science and Practice of Automation and Robotics in Kazakhstan's Automotive Industry. The conference was jointly organized by the Joldasbekov Institute of Mechanics and Engineering(JIME).

In addition, CHANG Yong and Associate Researchers LYU Peng represented SIA at the technical training workshop, delivering sessions on Kinematic Modeling Methods for Robotic Arms and Wheeled Robots and Typical Robot Control System Architectures and Applications, and were engaged in discussions with the participants. The workshop was hosted by the JIME, co-organized by SIA and Turan University. The workshop was attended by Consul Liu Yuhui and Deputy Consul Xu Lei from the Chinese Consulate General in Kazakhstan.

SIA and JIME signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement in 2023. In recent years, the two institutions have carried out in-depth collaboration in personnel exchanges, joint projects, and the establishment of a joint laboratory. This international academic exchange activity represents an important step for SIA in supporting the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative.

In the future, SIA will continue to deepen cross-border scientific and technological cooperation with global partners, working hand in hand to deliver mutual benefits and shared prosperity for all sides.
