Onsite Matchmaking between Research Outcomes and Industry Demands

The 2026 Shenyang Robot Conference kicked off in Shenyang on June 1. The event was hosted by the Shenyang Municipal People’s Government under the theme “New Quality Leads Development, Intelligent Manufacturing Connects the Future,”. Multiple achievements from the Shenyang Institute of Automaiton (SIA), the Chinese Academy of Sciences showcased at the event.

YU Haibin, a researcher at SIA and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), attended the conference. LIU Lianqing, Deputy Director of SIA, moderated the conference’s keynote forum. LIU Yu, a researcher from the Industrial Control Network and System Department, participated as a panelist in the forum on industry-academia-research integration and industrial empowerment for embodied intelligence.

SIA presented four achievements: a hydraulic robotic arm suitable for heavy-load operations and precision control under complex conditions; a controller for industrial robots and special-purpose platforms that integrates advanced motion planning and multi-sensor fusion algorithms; a rotary joint serving as a core drive component for humanoid robots and collaborative robots; and the “PaiBao 1” embodied intelligent robot.

Prior to the opening ceremony, provincial and municipal leaders toured the exhibition of cutting-edge technologies and innovations. At the SIA booth, LAN Dapeng, a researcher from the Industrial Control Network and System Department, introduced and demonstrated the relevant achievements.

During the conference, SIA also organized an on-site matchmaking event between research outcomes and industrial needs. Representatives from multiple industry enterprises visited SIA, and get a better understanding of the technological progress and industrialization work of the insitute.
