  On February 11th, the Shenyang Institute of Automation (SIA), Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS) , hosted an academic seminar themed "Gathering Intelligence in Atomic-Level Manufacturing to Shape New Quality Productive Forces." The event brought together over 50 researchers from universities and research institutes.

  On September 26, the Liaoning Sub-Forum of the Pujiang Innovation Forum and the Northeast Asia Technology Cooperation and Exchange Conference convened in Shenyang. Shenyang Institute of Automation (SIA) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) held "AI-Driven New Models for Smart Manufacturing" innovation forum during the event.

  Academic Seminar Held on "From Perception to Cognition: Large Model-Driven New Paradigms and Application Practices"

  On September 30, Researcher Yuliang Zhao, a Ph.D. supervisor from Northeastern University at Qinhuangdao, was invited to visit the Shenyang Institute of Automation (SIA) , Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS) and delivered an academic report titled "From Perception to Cognition: Large Model-Driven New Paradigms and Application Practices."

  On August 29, the Robotics Laboratory at the Shenyang Institute of Automation(SIA), Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS), organized an academic symposium on Brillouin Microscopy Imaging Technology and Its Biomedical Applications.

  New method helps keep an eye on electromagnetic coils degradation

  As the use of low-voltage (under 1kV) electrical rotating machines are more widely in new applications, especially in more-electric aircraft, the reliability of the low-voltage coil insulation systems in rotating machines has thus become a critical issue and requires technical-conditions-monitoring to avoid unexpected shutdown of machines that incorporate electromagnetic coils.

  RF chain reduction for wireless MIMO communication systems solution proposed for 5G deployment

  Recently, the Industrial Communication and System-on-Chip (iComSoC) Group at Shenyang Institute of Automation (SIA), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and the Signal Acquisition, Modeling, Processing and Learning (SAMPL) Lab at Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel, have jointly proposed theory and algorithm on RF chain reduction for wireless MIMO communication systems, and successfully built up the hardware prototype. Their study was published on IEEE Systems Journal.

  Novel deep reinforcement learning based control system proposed to enhance robot autonomy

  The novel method is set to achieve autonomous mobile manipulation in dynamic and unstructured environments. The cutting-edge AI techniques have been successfully applied to a complex real-world mobile manipulator robot.

  SIA Overseas Prominent Scholar Won 2019 Shenyang Rose Award

  The 2019 Shenyang Rose Award Ceremony was held on November 18th, 2019. Jiang Youwei, mayor of Shenyang met winners of the award and gave the certificates and medals to them. Prof Hong Seungho, an overseas prominent scholar of Shenyang Institute of Automation (SIA) was among the winners.

  Professor Imad H. Elhajj from American University of Beirut visited SIA

  Upon the invitation of Professor Lianqing LIU, director of the Robotics Department, Professor Imad H. Elhajj from American University of Beirut visited Shenyang Institute of Automation, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and made a report on Vision and Robotics La Connecting Humans, Robots, and Networks.
