The Marine Robotics Department is primarily engaged in the research of underwater robot technology, as well as the development and engineering application of underwater robot systems. It is a professional team dedicated to underwater robots in China, being among the earliest to conduct research on underwater robot technology and taking this as its core research direction. Since the late 1970s, the Laboratory has achieved a number of "firsts in China" in the field of underwater robot technology.
