07/08 -2019-Researchers propose an image-patch tensor model for infrared small target detectionInfrared small target detection has been widely used in many fields such as surveillance and precision guidance. Because of a long imaging distance, targets usually occupy only a tiny part in the field without a fixed shape. And due to the influence of meteorological conditions such as atmospheric refraction and scattering, the target is too weak to detect. These factors make infrared small targets detection challenging.Recently, researchers from Shenyang Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences proposed a 3D image-patch tensor (IPT) model to detect infrared small targets.

07/03 -2019-Chinese researchers achieve high sEMG-based recognition performance under non-ideal conditionsResearchers proposed an adaptive hybrid classifier for sEMG recognition under non-ideal conditions, such as the outlier motion, muscle fatigue, and electrode shifts, which was published on IEEE Transactions on Neural Systems and Rehabilitation Engineering.Under this study, researchers have achieved recognition accuracy of 92 percent for ten common gestures, which is significantly higher than that of previous studies. This study is expected to promote the clinical applications of sEMG-based prosthesis and rehabilitation hands, which are becoming more important and helpful for the disabled.

06/27 -2019-Chinese Researchers Propose a Terahertz Imaging Deconvolution Method to Enhance the ResolutionIn this study, phase information of THz waves is fully utilized by making use of the wave nature of THz light. It demonstrated that the reconstructed phase can also describe the shape of the object by applying such an approach.
