During his visit, Shinichi introduced the research progress of his laboratory on rod adjustment method and leaping gait of variable structure robot. Li Bin introduced the research progress made on motion mechanism, simulation system, and principle prototype of variable structure robot by the Robotics Laboratory of SIA. He also demonstrated the applications of transformable ruins search and rescue robot and robotic life-detector in the research and rescue mission after the 7.0-magnitude earthquake hit Lushan County on April 20th.
