Abstract:
In this seminar he will provide information on how to publish your academic paper. Subjects covered will include: what editors look for in a good (and bad) paper; what reviewers look for; importance of reading the author guide; differences between conference and journal publication; responding to the reviewers' comments; importance of originality; and an introduction to the IET journals.
Biography:
Mr. Stuart Govan has worked for the IET for over 12 years. He is an expert in academic journal publishing, having worked in this area since he joined the IET. As publisher, he had overall management responsibility for the IET's academic journals program, from commissioning, peer review and publication to marketing, budgeting and subscription management.
In his current role, he is responsible for identifying new academic publishing products, services and partners in China. He has visited China on three prior occasions, where has conducted popular publishing seminars in Chinese univerisites and secured industrial sponsorship from Huawei for a regional edition of the IET's best-known journal, Electronics Letters.
