The 2019 Shenyang Rose Award Ceremony was held on November 18th, 2019. Jiang Youwei, mayor of Shenyang met winners of the award and gave the certificates and medals to them. Prof Hong Seungho, an overseas prominent scholar of Shenyang Institute of Automation (SIA) was among the winners. 

Hong is a professor at Hanyang University of South Korea. He is the chairman of Smart Manufacturing Standards and Technology Research Group of Korean Agency for Technology and Standard.

Hong has conducted extensive cooperation with SIA researchers in the domains of smart manufacturing, smart grid and industrial IoT. And they are now jointly conducting research on Industrial IoT Technologies for Smart Manufacturing, IIoT and CPS-based Smart Manufacturing and its Application to Robotics Digital Workshop. Hong has contributed a lot to the scientific R&D of Shenyang in applying new technologies to industries, and to the development of international standards during his stay in Shenyang.

Shenyang Rose Award is established by Shenyang Municipal People’s Government to appraise foreign experts for their outstanding contributions and dedications to the economic,scientific and technological, educational and cultural development of Shenyang.
