Prof. Mingcong Deng of Tokyo university of agriculture and technology visited Shenyang Institute of Automation (SIA), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), upon the invitation of SIA on September 11th. Liang Bo, deputy director of SIA, received Prof. Mingcong Deng and they had a discussion of exchanges, and director Zhou Chuan of human resources and education department, deputy director Liu Lianqing of robotics laboratory, deputy director Wang Hongguang of center for space automation technology & systems, deputy director Yang Zhijia of industrial control networks and systems department, and other relevant researchers and graduate students of SIA, attended the meeting.
Deng Mingcong made an academic report entitled safety control, fault diagnosis and isolation for nonlinear robust control based on operator theory - new method of control system. He first gave a brief introduction of Tokyo university of agriculture and technology during the report. Then he elaborated the basic principles of nonlinear robust control based on operator theory and laboratory status of advanced control system and research on new materials, including semiconductor power generation, intelligent material (piezoelectric material, memory alloy andartificial muscle, etc.) and distributed control system (DCS), etc.. He shared the research results of laboratory about nonlinear robust control based on operator theory and Prof. Deng’s work - Operator-Based Nonlinear Control System - during the report. After the report, Deng Mingcong conducted in-depth exchanges with relevant researchers and visited the State Key Laboratory of Robotics.
Deng Mingcong, master of automation control at Northeast University and doctor of system science at Kumamoto University, is the tenured professor, doctoral supervisor and deputy chief of electronic and electrical engineering at Tokyo university of agriculture and technology. He has been long devoted to robust control for nonlinear system and research on intelligent bionic robot, and has published more than 300papers, including more than 130 journals papers and 9 monographs. He is the reviewer of IEEE Transactions, IEEE Press (for books) and other first-class journals, the editor of International Journal of Advanced Mechatronic Systems and The Global Journal of Technology and Optimization, and the deputy editor of 7 international journals, including IEEE Trans. on Automation Science and Engineering, and IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatic SINICA, etc. Deng Mingcong is also the co-chairman of Agricultural Robotics and Automation Committee, and the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society. He received a Meritorious Award of IEEE SMC 2014.
