At the invitation of Underwater Robot Department, Dr. Li Qiang visited Shenyang Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences on July, 14. And he made an academic report entitled A Visuo-Tactile Control Framework for Manipulation and Exploration of Unknown Objects. Dr. Li introduced control framework with dynamic contact unknown target study and obtain the shape information and optimal positioning fetching points techniques. This research work is important to study the autonomous grab working problems of underwater vehicles. Meantime, Dr. Li discussed the research on underwater robot autonomous working problems with robot-related staff and graduate students of SIA. Also, they discussed research work on future cooperation.
Dr. Li finished his study from SIA in 2010, and received a doctorate in pattern recognition and intelligent system. Then he went to cognitive robotics lab of Bielefeld University with Honda Europe institute scholarship. Since 2012, he has worked as a research scientist in neural information of Bielefeld University.
