Hong Yuanhe, director of Industry Development Group of Agency for Science, Technology and Research, Zhang Zhehui, deputy director of Science and Engineering Council, etc, visited Shenyang Institute of Automation (SIA), Chinese Academy of Sciences on July 8, 2015. Sang Zigang, deputy director of SIA, Han Jianda, head of the Robotics Laboratory of SIA, etc, received the delegation.

During discussion session, Sang Zigang briefly introduced the basic situation, research direction and achievements of SIA. Hong Yuanhe expressed the willingness to strengthen cooperation between the Agency for Science, Technology and Research and SIA. Zhang Zhehui introduced the basic situation of Agency for Science, Technology and Research. Members of the delegation also introduced the research directions of several departments of the agency respectively. Researchers from the two sides had in-depth exchanges on robotics, advanced manufacturing, communications and other aspects. In addition, the two sides reached consensus on further cooperation in research projects and personnel training.

Agency for Science, Technology and Research is an autonomous research institution under the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Singapore and it has more than 5400 employees at present. There are two major boards, Biological Medicine Research and Scientific and Engineering Research, under the agency. They manage respectively a number of subordinate research institutes to carry out scientific research work in the relevant areas.
