Four researchers from Shenyang Institute of Automation (SIA), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) participated in the 2014 International Conference on Intelligent Robotics and Applications (ICIRA 2014), which was held in Guangzhou, China, during December 17 to 20, 2014.

The conference offers a unique and interesting platform for scientists, engineers and researchers in a range of disciplines throughout the world to present and share their recent research and innovative ideas in the areas of robotics, automation and mechatronics.

The paper, titled A visual measurement of fish locomotion based on deformable models co-authored by Li Yan, researcher from Ocean Technology Equipment Department, won Distinguished Paper Award at the conference.
