Upon the invitation of the State Key Laboratory of Robotics, Professor Li Dayou from the University of Bedfordshire, UK visited Shenyang Institute of Automation (SIA), the Chinese Academy of Sciences during April 28th to 29th, 2014.
During his visit, Li Dayou made a report named Symbolic Grounding – Uncertainty Handling in HRI, introducing the research status quo and development tendency of service robot by the European Union countries. He also introduced his research on the EU project of Multiple Functional Shadow Robotic System, set to provide service for elder people who need daily care.
Li Dayou serves as the representative for the European and Chinese Platform for Robotics and Applications (ECROBOT). SIA is one of the participating organizations of ECOROT, and mainly focuses on research of nano-manipulation robot and nano sensor basic theories, key technologies and application platform.
