Professor Hiroaki Kunieda with Tokyo Institute of Technology visited Shenyang Institute of Automation (SIA),
Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) on March 17, 2011. During his visit, Professor Kunieda gave an academic report entitled
Towards Ubiquitous Society, discussing fingerprint identification systems and multi-processor system design methods, and shared with technical personnel of SIA his new ideas and research results. The attendees from SIA discussed some technical problems and exchanged ideas with Professor Kunieda.
Professor Hiroaki Kunieda received his Doctor of Engineering degree from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo, Japan in 1978. Since 1978, he has been with Faculty of Engineering, Tokyo Institute of Technology, where he is now a Professor in the Department of Communications and Integrated Systems.
Professor Kunieda’s R&D areas include IC design, fingerprint identification system and multi-processor system design. He has acted as chairperson for some important international conferences, such as Chairman of Technical Committee of IEEE ASP and Chairman of Technical Group on IEEJ Reconfigurable LSI Design, and published several books and more than 130 high-quality papers in international journals and conferences.
Professor Kunieda was awarded the Visiting Professor for Senior International Scientist of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in 2010. On March 17, 2011, Professor Sang Zigang, deputy director of SIA, conferred on Professor Kunieda the CAS certificate of Visiting Professorship for Senior International Scientist, which was signed by Dr. Lu Yongxiang, president of CAS.
