Dr Graham Brown, Chief Mechanical Engineer of Sonardyne International Ltd. and John Ramsden, Senior Vice President at SE Asia – Singapore visited SIA and made some techincal exchange with Department of Underwater Robot of SIA on March 24, 2009. John Ramsden presented a brief introduction to Sonardyne, its main products and its global services, and introduced in details its latest product — the underwater intruder detection sonar system and its kernel technology of sonar system — WidebandTM digital acoustic signal technology. Dr Graham Brown presented the technical realization scheme of the follow-up development program on the low power synthetic aperture sonar (SAS) and echo sounding system specified for AUVs which are under development.
Professor Wang Xiaohui, Director of Department of Underwater Robot of SIA, presided over the meeting, and more than thirty faculty members and graduate students attended the meeting.
