Recently, the final round of Sinopec's First Artificial Intelligence Innovation Competition concluded. The SIA-SmartField team, composed of staff and graduate students from the Industrial Control Network and Systems Laboratory of the Shenyang Institute of Automation (SIA), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), secured the second prize in the competition track titled "Design of Injection-Production Parameter Adjustment Schemes for Medium-High Permeability Waterflood Reservoirs" after progressing through both preliminary and final rounds.
The competition featured ten tracks, each awarding one first prize, one second prize, and one third prize. The track "Design of Injection-Production Parameter Adjustment Schemes for Medium-High Permeability Waterflood Reservoirs" focused on improving the accuracy and efficiency of injection-production adjustments based on static and dynamic reservoir data. In this track, the SIA-SmartField team proposed a refined water-cut prediction solution that integrates multi-dimensional spatiotemporal data and embeds physical constraints by well and layer, earning them the second prize.
Sinopec's First Artificial Intelligence Innovation Competition was organized by the China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec). The event attracted nearly 3,000 participants from over 300 universities and research institutes.
