Researcher Fan Yang delivered a presentation

On August 29, the Robotics Laboratory at the Shenyang Institute of Automation(SIA), Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS), organized an academic symposium on Brillouin Microscopy Imaging Technology and Its Biomedical Applications.

Fan Yang, a researcher from the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics(SIOM), Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS), was invited to deliver a presentation and engage in discussions with researchers of SIA. Lianqing Liu, deputy director of SIA along with relevant researchers and graduate students from the Robotics Laboratory, attended the event.

Fan Yang introduced recent research progess of his research team in the field of Brillouin microscopy, including the working mechanism and applications of Brillouin microscopy. He also shared the methods and latest advancements made by the team to enhance the capability of Brillouin microscopy for real-time observation of dynamic processes in biological samples.

Yongliang Yang and Jialin Shi from SIA presented their research work on quantitative phase microscopy and scanning ion conductance microscopy respectively. Reseachers from the two instiutes also conducted dissions on potential research collaborations in the future in the field of characterization of mechanical and morphological features of cells, etc.
