The Shenyang Institute of Automation (SIA), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), held a kick-off meeting to officially commence the formulation of its 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030).
Zelin Shi, director of SIAdelivered a keynote report. He conveyed the key requirements outlined by CAS for developing the 15th Five-Year Plan and presented the institute's specific roadmap and timeline for the planning process.
Shi emphasized the critical importance of this undertaking. "We must fully grasp the significance of formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan and strengthen our sense of mission, responsibility, and urgency in this task," he stated. He stressed that this effort is fundamental to laying a solid groundwork for SIA's leapfrog innovation in science and technology, enabling it to make new and greater contributions to achieving high-level technological self-reliance and building China into a global sci-tech powerhouse.
During the meeting, deputy-directors of SIA and reserachers made reports, focusing on major national demandss, current trends at the frontiers of science and technology of their academic fields, as well as competitive advantages of SIA. They also outlined prospective initiatives planned for the 15th Five-Year Plan period.
The meeting featured dedicated group discussion sessions. Participants actively engaged in deliberations and exchanges focusing on the framework, research priorities, and reform measures for the next five years.
