Prof. YU Haibin presenting the technology during WIC.
The World Internet Conference (WIC) Awards for Pioneering Science and Technology were presented at a ceremony held in Wuzhen, East China's Zhejiang province, on Nov 8. IIoT WIA-PA Technology and System of Intelligent Oilfield, developed by a research team led by Prof. YU Haibin from Shenyang Institute of Automation (SIA), the Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS) won the award. Prof. YU presented the techonlogy during WIC.
The technology aims to build an industrial IoT system with full coverage of oil field production, creating an industrial IoT eco-system that integrates network, hardware, and software. This enables real-time online monitoring of widely dispersed oil well production processes, forming a new mode of intelligent oil field production that integrates remote metering, fault diagnosis, and energy-saving optimization.
The research team successfully developed high-performance oilfield IIoT WIA-PA technology, a series of instrument equipment, as well as international standards. The proposed WIA-PA protocol standard has been adopted by the oil field industry and has been applied on a large scale to build China's largest industrial grade, high real-time, and reliable oil field Internet of Things system. In addition, the research team achieved comprehensive innovation in production measurement, equipment operation and maintenance, creating a solution for solving the problems of difficult efficiency improvement, high production operation costs, and high comprehensive water content in oil and gas production processes, played a role in stabilizing and increasing production in the oilfield, and created significant economic and social benefits.
The third is to achieve comprehensive innovation in production measurement, equipment operation and maintenance, and oil extraction technology, creating conditions and providing solutions for solving the "one difficult and two high" problems of difficult efficiency improvement, high production operation costs, and high comprehensive water content in oil and gas production processes.
The release of world leading internet scientific and technological achievements has been held for seven consecutive years and has played a significant role in encouraging scientific and technological innovation and advocating technological exchanges and cooperation.
This year, the event has been comprehensively upgraded into the WIC Awards for Pioneering Science and Technology and featured a grand ceremony to honor the remarkable contributions made by internet players in advancing internet scientific and technological achievements throughout the year, in a bid to build an innovative display platform of higher standard.
