Wang Tianran, Academician of CAE chaired main forum
Yu Haibin, director of SIA delivered a speech on Robot Internet
The 2017 World Robot Conference was held in Beijing, from August 23rd to 27th, 2017. Wang Tianran, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) was invited to participate in the opening ceremony of the convention and chair the main forum. Yu Haibin, director of Shenyang Institute of Automation (SIA), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) delivered a speech on Robot Internet during the main forum.
In his speech, which was given during the forum of “Basic Research and Frontier Exploration” on August 24th, Yu Haibin shared latest research on robot internet. As a ground-breaking technology that can transform the world, robot has huge economic potential. Currently, the information society has entered an era of Internet of Everything (IoE), and Robot is estimated to be the intelligent end of IoE. Therefore, the interconnection and coordination of robots has become hot research topic. Could robot, to some extent, can solve the problem of disconnection between robot and information infrastructure. Furthermore, people wish they can construe a robot internet. As terminal nodes of internet, internet enables the vertical interconnection of massive information resources and robots, which can enhance the capability of robots. Based on vertical interconnection, robots can realize horizontal interconnection with each other, thus a complete system can be achieved.
Yu Haibin also introduced latest research progress on robot wireless collaboration network, robot operation system and robot customized production. SIA has successfully built up China’s first Industrial 4.0 intelligent manufacturing demonstration line with German company SAP. The technology was listed among 15 world internet leading technology of 2016.
