Yu Haibin, director of Shenyang Institute of Automation (SIA), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) was elected as Deputy Director of 10th Council of Chinese Association of Automation (CAA) on December 28th 2013, during the annual national congress of the association in Beijing. Wang Tianran, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) was granted title of Honorary Director, to honor his contributions to CAA.
Established in 1961, CAA is one of the earliest public academic organizations on national scale in China. It is now consisted of twenty-eight special committees and seven working committees. Associations of automation on provincial level have been set up in twenty-eight provinces. The organization has now attracted nearly 40,000 members.
