Invited by the State Key Laboratory of Robotics, Yin Xiaodong, professor from PLA Dalian Navy Academy visited Shenyang Institute of Automation (SIA), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) on June 7th, 2013. During his visit, Yin Xiaodong making a report on Status and Development Tendency of Digital Ocean Construction on the Robot Frontier Forum.

In the report, Yin Xiaodong introduced the concept of digital ocean, the content, key technology of digital ocean construction, as well as its development status and future tendency both at home and abroad, He especially illustrated the advantages and demands of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV) and Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USV) as underwater observation platform. He also made discussions with researchers from SIA on China’s digital ocean construction status, China’s territorial waters survey, the demands and feasibility of unmanned survey equipment, etc.

After the report, Liang Bo, deputy director of SIA conferred the certificate of “Robot Frontier Forum” to Yin Xiaodong.
