Professor Yi Jingang from Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey visited Shenyang Institute of Automation (SIA), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) on May 22nd, giving a report on Estimation, Sensing and Control of Tire/Road Interactions.

In his report, Yi introduced the research achievements of his research team in dynamic modeling and control of automobile tire/road interaction, and the latest research progress in autonomous robot system. During his visit, Yi made discussions with researchers from SIA on robot autonomous control, medical assistance robot and rotorcraft UAVs (unmanned aircraft vehicles), etc. He also visited the State Key Laboratory of Robotics.

Yi serves as an Assistant Professor in Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. His research interests include autonomous robot system, mechatronics, dynamic system and control, etc, with applications to biomedical, transportation, and civil infrastructure systems. He has published over 100 papers and won several awards.
