The IEC62601: Wireless Networks for Industrial Automation-Process Automation (WIA-PA), of which the R&D is presided over by Shenyang Institute of Automation (SIA), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), has won the First Prize of the China Standard Innovation Award 2013 recently.
Set up in 2006, the China Standard Innovation Award is to encourage the institutes and related people who have made major contributions to the establishment of national standards with self-owned innovative core technology. The practice of the standards has to produce significant social and economic benefits to our country. It is China’s most prominent award in standardization.
With self-owned intellectual property rights, the WIA-PA was approved by International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) as publicly available specifications (IEC/PAS 62601) in 2008. The standard has gained recognition from both China and abroad in overall technology level, system scale and application category, etc. It is the key technology in the fusion of industrialization and informationization, and will help lower the risk in industrial automation.
