The wind power control system independently developed by the Automation Systems Department of Shenyang Institute of Automation (SIA), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) has gone through field test in Inner Mongolia recently, gaining valuable data for researchers to further improve the system.
The wind power control system includes control system hardware, master control software, independent pitch system and SCADA monitoring system. The field test shows that the wind power control system and several special modules have basically reached the design requirements; the master control system and pitch system have also passed preliminary tests. Previously, the SCADA monitoring system had been put into running test in a wind field, and good results were obtained. The project team will improve and perfect the wind power control system according to the test data, and will conduct a few more field tests later, so that the entire system can be put into application.
China Creative Wind Energy Co., Ltd (CCWE) assisted in the field test. In 2010, CCWE and SIA’s Automation Systems Department signed a cooperative protocol on wind power control system development. Cai Xiaofeng, deputy general manager of CCWE had paid several visits to SIA to check on the progress of R&D of the wind power control system. (Dai Tianjiao)
