CAS and the local government are going to jointly establish a CAS S&T park in Shenyang, capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province. On March 30, 2007, CAS Vice President SHI Erwei and Mayor of Shenyang LI Yingjie signed the cooperative agreement for the initiative on behalf of the two sides, and unveiled the nameplate for the park.
The establishment of the park marks a new stage for the CAS-Shenyang cooperation, says Prof. Shi, adding that the Academy has stepped up its collaborative efforts with local governments and enterprises across the country in the 11th Five-year Plan period (2006-2010). In addition to the one in Shenyang, three other such parks have been set up in Shanghai, Beijing and Dalian.
